Yuki Kao (b. 1992) is a painter whose work explores emotional complexity shaped by cross-cultural experience. Born in Japan and raised in Taiwan, she later lived in Los Angeles and Paris, where she studied fashion design.
Working primarily with gouache and pastel, and occasionally oil, Kao creates layered, introspective imagery that reflects psychological spaces of memory and internal sensation. Drawing from dreamlike impressions and nuanced inner dynamics, her work offers a quiet investigation into the subconscious.
She is currently based in Taipei, where she continues to develop a body of work centered on emotion, memory, and psychological depth.
